To reach the lap of nature, you don’t need to take long car rides, Pärnu offers hiking trails both on the beach and within a ten-minute drive from the city center.
PÄRNU BEACH FOREST TRAIL
What could be better after a long and sunny day than walking on one of the hiking trails near the city of Pärnu and enjoying true peace and quiet? To get into nature, you don’t need to make long car trips as Pärnu offers hiking trails both on the beach and just a ten-minute drive from the city center. Choose the one that suits you best, put on comfortable shoes, and hit the road… Within just a 35 km radius from Pärnu, nature lovers can find a total of 6 hiking trails, some shorter and easier, others longer and more demanding.
The Beach Meadow hiking trail is located in a very accessible location and can be accessed directly from the central beach in the surfing area. It is an easy 600-meter walk, and with the support of the Linnalehmad project, a viewpoint hiking trail has been built to discover this unique urban nature. The trail is easy to navigate with a stroller or wheelchair.
TAMMISTE HIKING TRAIL
Tammiste Hiking Trail is a 2.8 km long forest trail located conveniently close to the city, winding through the forest and along the Pärnu River. The trail is on a flat terrain, equipped with information boards providing valuable information about forestry principles and tree and plant species found in the forest. A special highlight of the trail is a picnic area with a grill and a roofed table and benches located by the Pärnu River in the more remote part of the trail. Visitors can also cool off in the refreshing river water on a hot day.
TOLKUSE HIKING TRAIL
Tolkuse bog hiking trail is a 2.2 km circular trail, which is very popular among both locals and tourists. The trail runs through the Tolkuse bog and also along the high sand dunes in the pine forest, offering a breathtaking view of the bog massif. The trail passes several bog lakes and resting places where visitors can rest and refresh themselves. The highlight of the trail is an 18 m high observation tower on the Tornimäe ridge, one of the highest dunes in Estonia, offering a magnificent view of the Tolkuse bog massif on one side and the Gulf of Pärnu on the other.

RIISA BOG
The Riisa bog study trail is a 4.8 km circular trail that winds through a picturesque bog and the forests along the Navesti River. While on the trail, visitors can sit and rest on benches and enjoy the fresh air and the silence of the bog. The observation tower offers a breathtaking view of the bog massif. NB: There is a dry toilet available at the beginning of the trail.
